Our client is currently the most successful manufacturer of its type in the country with orders of £25m gained in the first 9 months of this year. To keep up with the inquiries they need to appoint an Estimator to their sales department. As Estimator you will have a good understanding of mechanical engineering and in particular estimating for complex CNC machined components. Estimator – Role and Responsibilities – Costing Engineer / Estimating / Tenders / Bids / Mechanical Engineering / Machining

* Analysis of drawings and BOMs to estimate materials, machine cycle times and labour costs for complex low volume machined components and for higher volume subcontracted components
* Identification and liaison with new subcontractors when required
* Analysis of drawings and BOMs to estimate materials, labour and any additional items / costs required
* Record all quotations using Microsoft and proprietary IT systems
* Liaise with departmental supervisors and subcontract suppliers when necessary to verify times and costs

Estimator – Skills and Responsibilities – Costing Engineer / Estimating / Tenders / Bids / Mechanical Engineering / Machining

* Apprentice-trained in mechanical engineering with appropriate qualifications
* IT literate and able to use the full suite of Microsoft Office
* Highly numerate, team orientated with strong communication skills
* Previous demonstrable experience of estimating for machine shop
* This role would be ideal for an Ex-Works Manager or Foreperson
